Additional funding for homes in need of repairs

I am happy to share that additional funding will become available for Nova Scotians to help with the cost of emergency home repairs, health and safety upgrades, and accessibility needs.

The Province is investing an additional $5.3 million in a variety of programs to address increased demand for support. This new investment will help 300 additional households.

Each year more than 2,000 applications are approved for grants and forgivable loans to support emergency home repairs, health and safety upgrades, and accessibility needs.

The added funds will also help to speed up processing for applicants who are currently waiting for assistance.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements and assistance is limited to urgent emergency repairs or necessary repairs and upgrades that improve health and safety and extend the life of the property.
