Non-profits and cooperative housing groups in Nova Scotia can now apply for support through the Community Housing Growth Fund.
The $2.5-million fund provides financial support, tools, and expertise to empower community housing providers to increase the supply of affordable housing options in the province.
The Community Housing Transformation Centre will administer the program and allocate funds to approved projects over the next two years.
Grants are available to support capacity building, planning and pre-development, and research and innovation.
The fund will also support the creation of a new provincial non-profit housing association – as recommended by the Nova Scotia Affordable Housing Commission – which will help lead the growth and long-term sustainability of the community housing sector.
Applications and criteria are now available here.
