The following statement has been issued by Environment Canada

Snow is expected over Nova Scotia today giving 10 centimetres or more over much of the province.
A low pressure system will track toward the Maritimes today and then move east of Nova Scotia by Friday morning. Snow is forecast to develop ahead of this system this morning then change to or become mixed with rain over southern and eastern regions of the province. Ice pellets can also be expected over many areas. Also, strong northeasterly winds will giving reduced visibility in blowing snow over some areas.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as warnings may be required.
