Nova Scotians will mark the 100 per cent connection of the Trans Canada Trail this weekend.
Celebrations are happening Saturday, Aug. 26 in Nova Scotia and across Canada, as trail enthusiasts come together to celebrate the national connection of the trail.
“The connection of the Trans Canada Trail is a major milestone and government is honoured to have supported its development through in-kind and financial support,” said Natural Resources Minister Margaret Miller. “This great trail provides us a way to connect communities, explore nature, and to follow a healthy and active lifestyle.”
The Nova Scotia portion of the Trans Canada Trail totals more than 1,200 kilometres. More than half of the trail is located on public lands.
