The deadline is approaching to apply for the Seniors’ Property Tax Rebate. This program helps seniors living on lower incomes with their municipal residential property taxes by offering eligible seniors a rebate of up to $800.
To qualify for the rebate, Nova Scotians must be 60 or older in 2021 and meet all of the following criteria:
- 2020 municipal residential property taxes are paid in full
- Their name is included in the property taxes
- Receive or are eligible to receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) or the Allowance from Service Canada in 2021
Applications are open until December 31, 2021.
