Doctor recruitment is a top priority for government. I am encouraged to see provincial representatives heading back to the United Kingdom this week to continue efforts to recruit more doctors to Nova Scotia.
Of the 25 doctors—20 doctors and five specialists—recruited through the Physician Immigration Stream that we launched last year, five were from the United Kingdom and have recently started practising in Dartmouth accepting thousands of patients.
While in the United Kingdom, representatives will meet one-on-one in London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Edinburgh with doctors to discuss immigration and employment options.
