Provincial Campsite Bookings Now Open

Campers are now able to book provincial campsites for the 2018 season.

Each year, Nova Scotia’s provincial campgrounds continue to gain popularity. The 2017 season saw 78,025 camper nights, an increase of 13 per cent over 2016.

“It’s clear that both Nova Scotians and visitors love our provincial parks and all they have to offer,” said Natural Resources Minister Margaret Miller. “Given our parks’ popularity, I encourage everyone to book their campsites early.”

Reservations for campsites can be made by phone, toll free at 1-888-544-3434 or online at http://parks.novascotia.ca .

Most provincial day-use and camping parks will open on Victoria Day weekend in May, while some will open in June. Park users should check the provincial parks website for up-to-date information on park openings.

Last year, 24 powered campsites were added at Caribou-Munroes Island in Pictou Co., as well as the addition of electrical and water service to 35 campsites at Five Islands in Colchester Co. and 27 campsites at Amherst Shore in Cumberland Co.

Each year, more than a million visitors enjoy activities like swimming, camping, paddling, nature exploration and geocaching at Nova Scotia’s provincial parks and beaches. A full list of park events and activities for 2018 can be found at http://parks.novascotia.ca .
