Pre-budget consultation

Nova Scotians can share their thoughts and ideas for the next provincial budget by taking part in the annual pre-budget consultations from now until February 3.

The budget is the province’s roadmap for delivering programs and services for the coming year. It reflects their priorities and commitments, and outlines how the government is going to pay for those programs and services. The budget cycle begins April 1 and ends the following March 31.

Pre-budget consultations, research, and analysis help shape what’s in the budget and is a way for Nova Scotians to provide their input on the solutions of government advances in areas like healthcare and housing that are a concern for most Nova Scotians these days, the economy, and other priority areas.
