Spring Update 2020

Sackville-Bedford-Burnside Connector

Phase 1 – Akerley Blvd to Burnside Railroad (HFX464) – 2020-21 and 2022-23

Construction on the subgrade and structures is ongoing and will continue throughout the summer and finish in the fall 2020.
A paving tender will be out this spring for work to start in the summer and continue into spring 2021. This will put the Akerley interchange (HFX552) and roundabouts (R1 and R2) into operation, and connect Wilkinson Ave to R1 where it is currently a dead end road in the business park.
TIR plans to pave the Burnside Drive extension and Burnside interchange ramps in 2022-23.

Phase 2 – Burnside Railroad (HFX464) to Anderson Lake Interchange (HFX555) – 2020-21 and 2021-22

TIR plans to post a subgrade and structures tender this spring for Phase 2. This work Is expected to continue into the summer of 2021.

Phase 3 – Anderson Lake Interchange (HFX555) Highway 102

TIR plans to tender the structure over Rocky Lake Road (HFX465) later this year with the hope to start in the fall and continue into 2021.
The remaining subgrade and structures are expected to start in 2021-22 and finish in 2022-23.

The final paving is scheduled for 2023-24 and will encompass Phase 2 and Phase 3.

Pre-Primary – 12 Updates

Electoral Boundaries

For the first time, Bedford will be represented by two electoral districts. The new districts will be named Bedford Basin and Bedford South.
