NS Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage has announced that the infrastructure grant programs for 2023 – 2024 are now open.
Applications are open until February 14, 2023.
The Recreation Facility Development Program assists community groups, municipalities and other non-profit organizations to develop facilities in order to increase public participation in sport and physical recreation.
Facilities may include:
- i. Recreation centres and halls, pools, arenas, athletic field, parks and playgrounds and trails,
- ii. Enhanced schools for community use
- iii. Other facilities that promote sport and physical recreation.
The Rink Revitalization Program application is accessible through the Recreation Facility Development program application form.
The Community Access-Ability Program provides improved access to community facilities through cost-shared grants to community groups that are doing accessibility related capital improvements.
The Community Facilities Improvement Program supports community-led projects which enhance public use of existing facilities. Enhancements include repairs and improvements to building exteriors and interior features that are integral to the long-term sustainability of the facility.
