Last week, the legislature opened for the spring sitting which typically focuses on the provincial budget.
The Province’s fourth consecutive balanced budget will be introduced by Finance Minister Karen Casey on March 26th.
Government’s legislative agenda will also include:
- coastal protection, which follows public consultation on the issue last year;
- short-term rentals in the shared economy; and
- expanding eligibility for the Innovation Equity Tax Credit.
“We have seen recent statistics around immigration, employment, and population that all Nova Scotians can be proud of. This sitting is an opportunity to build on our vision for an innovative, inclusive, entrepreneurial province where all Nova Scotians have an opportunity for success.”
Government is maintaining its plan for fiscal stability, which helps send the message Nova Scotia is a good place to invest while also putting government in position to enhance support for priorities in health, education and other programs.
