A Guide to the Canada Summer Jobs Program

The Canada Summer Jobs program is a government initiative aimed at connecting students with employers, offering wage subsidies to make summer employment more accessible for businesses, not-for-profits, and public-sector entities.

There will be a series of virtual information sessions held this month, interested applicants are invited to attend an information session regarding this year’s program. You must register for the session which best suits your availability at the link below to attend.

Who Can Apply?


    • Small businesses (50 or fewer full-time employees).
  • Not-for-profit organizations.
  • Public-sector employers.


  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with refugee protection.
  • Aged 15 to 30.
  • Full-time students planning to return to studies in the fall.

Please note the following key dates:

  • Applications are due by January 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
  • Funding confirmations will be sent to employers starting in April 2024 and will continue into the summer months.
  • The earliest job start date is April 22, 2024.
  • The latest job start date is July 22, 2024.
  • The latest job end date is August 31, 2024.
  • The latest date to submit a payment claim is 30 days following the completion of the last CSJ-funded work placement.
