The first session of the 64th General Assembly will resume at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12 when the Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia delivers the speech from the throne.
MLAs assembled earlier this week to elect the Speaker and Deputy Speakers. Keith Bain, MLA for Victoria—The Lakes was elected Speaker. My colleague Angela Simmonds as well as MLA for Halifax Citadel—Sable Island, Lisa Lachance, will serve as Deputy Speakers.
