Lieutenant-Governor’s Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines

The 2024 Lieutenant-Governor’s Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines program is now officially open for submissions. This award, established by former Lieutenant-Governor J.J. Grant in 2014, celebrates the remarkable quality of locally sourced and produced wines. It is a testament to the dedication and expertise of individuals within Nova Scotia’s flourishing wine industry.

Administered in partnership with Taste of Nova Scotia and Wine Growers Nova Scotia (formerly the Winery Association of Nova Scotia), this award highlights the commitment to excellence demonstrated by our local wine producers.

Submission Details

For those eager to showcase their finest creations, submission details are available through Emma Cassidy at ecassidy@winesofnovascotia.ca or Sacha Smith at sacha@tasteofnovascotia.com.

  • wineries may submit up to three commercially available wines made with 100 per cent Nova Scotian grapes
  • the wines will be judged through a blind tasting process by a panel of independent wine experts
  • up to five wines will be selected for the annual award
  • the 2024 award ceremony will take place at Government House in July

Deadline

The deadline for submissions is set for May 17. Be sure to submit your entries before this date to be considered for this honor.
