Developing Age-Friendly Communities

April 22, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Nova Scotia has one of the oldest aging populations in Canada. By 2030, there will be close to 260 000 people aged 65 and older living in Nova Scotia. This demographic shift is an opportunity for communities to plan and take action – action that optimizes the advantage and resource of an older population and recognizes the important role that older adults play in the social, cultural, and economic life of their communities.

Speakers include:

Dave Harrison – community planner, currently undertaking his fourth “Age Friendly Community Plan” in Nova Scotia. Dave will share some “stories from the road.”

Natasha Handspiker – Manager Reboom/Community Engagement for Northwood talks about staying active, involved and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Tisha White – Manager, Northwood Intouch, Assistive Technology Solutions will discuss staying safe and secure in your own home.

Light refreshments will be served, and all ages are welcome.

Seating is limited, so please register by calling 902-454-3351 or emailing info@reboom.ca.
