2b Theatre Association to Benefit from Creative Industries Fund

Halifax-Chebucto MLA Joachim Stroink has announced $119,571.75 in funding for 2b theatre association through the Creative Industries Fund.

Administered by the Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage, the fund is designed to help both businesses and non-profits expand and improve export activity, and global competitiveness.

“This funding will enhance our ability to showcase our local talents not only here in Halifax, but in a number of other arts communities across the globe,” said Stroink. “I would like to thank 2b theatre association for it’s continuous work and encouragement to allow our most creative people to shine.”

The money the 2b theatre association is receiving will be invested towards the company’s multi-pronged export strategy for the 2016 fiscal year.

“2b makes original theatre productions here and tours them around the world,” said 2b theatre Artistic Co-Director Anthony Black. “We’re thrilled about this investment, which helps get our productions in front of more buyers, expands our touring, and shares Nova Scotian culture with the world.”
